With a rich era-spanning appreciation of music and an innate need to turn life experiences into narrative, Ady Suleiman has developed a timelessly classic yet fresh sound and a lyrical distinctiveness that has garnered fans ranging from Chance the Rapper and Joey Bada$$ through to Labrinth, George the Poet and Michael Kiwanuka. Suleiman rose to notoriety after being selected as ‘Breakthrough Act of the Year’ at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards, which led to support shows with the likes of Michael Kiwanuka, Laura Mvula, Leon Bridges and Lianne Le Havas. Following a string of critically acclaimed EPs, which received extensive coverage in media and were featured by BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra and more, Ady played a string of headline shows across the UK in 2016, most recently selling out London's Scala in October, before heading back into the studio to continue work on his debut album.
Lead single from the new album, “Not Giving Up”, is available to stream now. "'Not Giving Up' is about taking a step back from a painful relationship and a self-destructive person.” says Suleiman. "It's difficult to see someone you love in bad situations and even harder when you know their decisions have put them there. As much as you try to get involved and help, you can only do so much without their willingness to change. This song is telling the person: I'm not giving up on you but how can I help if you don't want to help yourself.” Ady Suleiman’s to-be-announced debut album will be released in 2018 via his imprint, Pemba Records.
