Jorja is 19-years-old and hails from Walsall, just outside of Birmingham. Jorja's influences range from Mos Def to Lauryn Hill to The Streets and this shows in her music, with its mixture of storytelling and commentary on social and personal issues. Jorja was brought up on a blend of Trojan Records boxsets, Curtis Mayfield and Damien Marley and was classically trained as a vocalist during secondary school. After finishing her A-Levels last year (2015), Jorja moved to London where she currently resides. Jorja released the internet-breaking "Blue Lights" at the end of January 2016 and it was met with an incredible response online, at radio (including Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Mistajam, (BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra) Zane Lowe (Beats1)), with artists/key tastemakers (Skrillex, Stormzy, Dizzee Rascal and Drake (OVO Radio)) and with every single major record label and publisher on both sides of the Atlantic. Jorja's follow up, "A Prince", was met with equal praise and the animated music video to accompany the song has received great plaudits. Jorja's next release, "Where Did I Go?", was accompanied by a music video shot and edited entirely by her as well. The soulful Cadenza-produced track is more upbeat than her previous 2 releases and revealed a side to Jorja that her previous releases had not. And Jorja's fans are certainly listening as her Spotfiy streams and YouTube/Vevo numbers are growing by the day. Jorja features on a track by Cadenza (signed to Sony/Columbia) entitled "People" which will be released in August 2016. The powerful track is set to be one of the sounds of Summer.
