Ambush

Ambush

Ambush Buzzworl is a next-generation post-grime MC, an exponent of British rapper/producers like Dizzee Rascal and Giggs, but more melodically inclined than that first wave of superstars. Born Savimbi Neto in Camden, a neighborhood in North-West London, in 1994, the drill MC, known for his concise lyrical flow and polished beats, started gaining a following in the early-2010s with his debut LP, 2012’s About My Business, before reemerging six years later with two breakthrough hits, “Drama” and “Jumpy.” The latter track, featuring assists from fellow rappers Skepta and Chip, showcased Ambush’s aggressive flow punching above smooth synths and slapping drums. It’s a formula he perfected by 2020’s Ask My Brother , a thrilling full-length project brimming with radio-friendly melody that firmly established Buzzworl as a star in the UK and abroad.
