Kenny Allstar

Kenny Allstar

Kenny Allstar – aka the Voice of the Streets – is known as many things; a self-made media mogul, an A&R with an enviable hit rate, and a radio presenter who has kick started numerous careers. But first and foremost he considers himself a DJ –and the last few years have seen him dramatically expand just what that title can mean.
A career that started on iconic pirate station DeJaVu FM and has since seen Kenny host shows on Reprezent and his now legendary Mad About Barz freestyle project. This lead to a regular spot on BBC 1Xtra where he can support the underground UK music he loves. Now the next step in Kenny’s career is clear – curating an album start to finish. Inevitably this means drawing on the biggest talents in the UK; think of a name and it’s likely Kenny has made a track with them. But he wanted to be more ambitious than just pull together a compilation like any other. Instead he wanted to make an album that told his story – Block Diaries - an unfiltered body of work that understands and explores the story of a young black man from Lewisham, something only Kenny could do.
